MY BLOG IS PR1

I did not expect that my blog is going to have a page rank. I dont update my blog regularly. In fact, in a year I only have less than twenty articles. Gush... Obviously no one would visit this blog. However, surprisingly, this blog received a pagerank from google and that is PR1. I am now confused on whether or not visitors are not considered in obtaining PR, lol.

Anyway, I have reasons though in not regularly updating. I am still unemployed, and I still dont spend time visiting some places. But somehow I forgot that my blog is also about places I wished to go. In this way, may be I can update my blog by featuring places I wanna go someday. I forgot that, really, tsk, tsk, too st$pid of me.

Now that I have an idea on how to update this blog, I will do my best to to do the same and show that there are still reasons why we should travel from one place to another.

VISITING A SICK FRIEND

I made mention in my previous post HOUSE CHECKING AND VISIT that from Cagayan de Oro City, I will be going to another city here in Mindanao, Philippines. I will be going to San Francisco. Ooops, not San Francisco in US. Just San Francisco in Agusan del Sur. I got you in there, lol.

Anyway, I will be visiting a co-major at the same time a close friend there. I havent seen her since I graduated in college in the year 1999. Even though we failed to contact each other for that long years, we still have that feeling of closeness and most especially the friendship. The problem is I will be visiting this friend because she is sick. She is suffering a tumor cancer or whatever they call it. I did not know she had an illness like this. Just recently, she got married with this young man and she was fine then. No signs of any illness leading to this tumor thing. One of our co-majors and also a friend, visited her and did realized that tears were falling from her eyes upon seeing our sick friend. She said she could not bare watching our friend like this. I admit I was guilty of being absent during her wedding but we have school activities back then. And it hurts my heart that I will be visiting her in this condition.

I dont know what to feel in my visit to their house.

HOUSE CHECKING AND VISIT

On August 28, 2008 I will be leaving for Cagayan de Oro City. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you are getting bored of this city because this is the place which I kept mentioning in this blog. Well, you cant blame me. As of this moment, its what I can afford to go yet. Anyway, the thing is I will be going to another place too from Cagayan de Oro. But I'll tell you more about it in my subsequent posts.

Today my visit to Cagayan De Oro is to see our new built pad there. Its not really a very beautiful house that you would expect. My parents are not rich to afford such a million peso house or even a hundred thousand house. Anyway, this house is built just for vacation purposes only. We are a resident of Iligan. Sometimes, we visit Cagayan de Oro. Actually its not sometimes, its mostly, lol. We have relatives here from both my mother and father sides but we dont wanna hassle them and stay in their house whenever we go to this city. Or check in to hotels which my parents usually do. So my parents decided to build a pad. Actually its not yet finished and its situated in a mountain side of Cagayan de Oro. Imagine that Cagayan de Oro has a mountain side, lol. But this place is near SM. So its actually a developing part in Cagayan de Oro City.

Here are some photos of the house. It is quite obvious that the place is like a rural area yet. But the whether is nice there especially at night. I wonder if some wi-fi connection can be tapped there, lol.

PREPARING FOR A ONE-WEEK TRIP

I must admit that even if I am already thirty, this will be my first trip alone. I have mixed emotions. I am excited yet I am nervous. I am not really the traveler type. I am a home buddy. I even feel dizzy just traveling one or two hours from one city to another. I must drink a certain medicine to avoid not feeling well when traveling.

I will be traveling to another part of our country which is a 3-day trip by sea and a 1-hour trip by plane. I already have my plane ticket back and forth which is scheduled on September 24 to September 30 this year. Even at present, I am already slowly buying stuffs for my trip. I am already taking notes of what should I bring and contacting friends all along. Some of my friends would even say that it is yet far, so I don’t have to worry. But I say that days pass by so fast and I think I should prepare for this trip from now on.

Traveling is one fact that should not be taken for granted especially when you are going to a new place you are not familiar to. Every single thing should be taken into account.

MY FRIEND’S VISIT

The summer is ending and schooldays are coming. Everyone is preparing for the coming school-year. But still, I could feel the heat of the summer. And with this I was so glad that my friend visited me before the start of the class. Well this should be the case for she is a teacher and she will have no time to visit me when classes begin. In addition to that, I will not worry for the place where I will bring her and her son. Why? It’s because since summer has not yet fully ended, I could still bring them to our famous TIMOGA!

Yap guys, its called timoga. I brought them in timoga where you have at least three available swimming pools to choose from. This is a famous spot in our city. Most people living nearby will come to visit this place to experience the cold water. Timoga has been in this city for quite sometime now. I guess it has been created over ten years now and it is still growing. You’ll really enjoy here if you could come and visit. In my case I could just come here now and then. You only pay fifty pesos for the entrance and seventy-five pesos for the table. They are open from I guess nine in the morning until six in the evening. But there are other pools which close at 10:00pm. So you have plenty of time to feel, experience and enjoy the cold water.

Here are some of the photo’s I’ve taken!

STRANDED UNDER THE BRIDGE

Spending time outside home is exciting yet dangerous at times. You’ll never know what is waiting for you there. Accidents, murders, rapes, robbery and all other crimes often occur when you are outside your home. However, there is no way that we can stay forever at home. We learn things that may sometimes be not available at home. It may be dangerous but its one of the realities of life.

So, we made another trip to Cagayan de Oro City. We rode via our private car. Everything was going pretty well until we passed under the bridge and the car just stopped. Gush! We are in the middle of the street! I was so ashamed. I did not get out from the car. My father pushed the car with my mother driving it until we made it at the side of the street. I would say that we are still blessed for it is allowed to park on that side of the road and we are not directly hit by sunlight for we are covered by the bridge. In addition to that, my parents grew up here so they know the place. We just waited for our father to come back with the auto-mechanic. I’m so glad that nothing worst did happen. It took hours to repair the car but gladly we were able to go back home at the same day safely.

This, among others, happens to every individual. All we must do is be prepared.

RESTRICTION ON TAKING PICTURES

Take your post and expect to get a shot!

Taking pictures of yourself, family or friends is nothing new when you travel. It is one way of remembering the views that you saw and recalling the memories that took place while you were traveling. Once you see printed copies of your pictures, you feel like you are actually in that place again. The things that happened will then be as fresh as if it occurred just yesterday. Who in the world will travel without bringing with them their cameras?

The fact of taking pictures wherever you are or even just in your house is normal to every individual that it even becomes a tradition to all. But there is this trip where I could never forget. Why? We are prohibited from taking pictures. Yes, that’s very true. I and my sisters were inside the mall at that time. We took pictures here and there. And then when we got outside the mall, we took pictures too. Well, you cannot blame us. It’s typical for women to that especially when they are in a group. Anyway, what surprised us was when the security guard approached us and reprimanded us not to take pictures for it is prohibited. This is something new really. And I cannot take it. In a way we were embarrassed. So we stopped taking pictures. This is the first time that I heard of such thing where customers are prohibited to take pictures. I cannot really forget this trip.

It was sad but it’s interesting to learn something new although shocking, lol. Let’s explore the world by traveling!

I am supposedly posting some pictures here, but there seemed to be a problem with my computer. My sincerest apologies.

MY TRIP IN BUYING MY LAPTOP (part 3)

It has been weeks or may be almost a month that I have not posted any continuation of my previous posts entitled MY TRIP IN BUYING MY LAPTOP (part 1) and MY TRIP IN BUYING MY LAPTOP (part 2). In fact, one blogger had inquired on whether or not I have actually bought my laptop. Well the answer to this question is in this discussion.

On that particular day, I really wanted to buy the laptop regardless of the brand, features or kind available in the market. Together with my parents, brothers and sisters, we went to several computer stores in Cagayan de Oro. Finally, we reached this store
and it is in this store that we bought my laptop. To top it all, the unit that I bought was the last unit available in their store, gush. It was so tiring and we were lucky that we stop by at this store for the people there were so accommodating. We were even given free coffee, lol.

Anyway, the laptop is nice. Moreover, it is professional looking. I like it personally as compared to other laptop available for sale which is in accordance with our budget. Until now the laptop is still useful for me. Here are pictures of my laptop which I personally took just to place it in this discussion as evidence that I really bought the same.

MY TRIP IN BUYING MY LAPTOP (part 2)

The second part of this trip centers in our wandering in Limketkai Center. Well, to Mindanaons this place is so famous. It is a big mall where you can look and buy all the things that you want in just one place. You don’t have to go anywhere else but here. If you want to have some fun, you can watch movies or eat together with friends or play bingo or anything else! Or if you just want to cool yourself you can just stand there and feel the cool breeze inside, lol. There are really so many choices to choose from. You don’t have to worry.

Well, in my case, although limketkai is just a one hour and thirty minutes ride from our city it has been years since I haven’t visited the place. Well it’s because I have limited resources and if I have to visit such place I believe I must have a big amount of money to buy the things that I like upon simply glaring at it, lol. It really improved a lot. Back then it was not fully air-conditioned. I mean there are portions or areas where it is hot or a portion where no one would really love to stay, lol, but that’s true. Aside from that previously there are things that I could not find in limketkai so I have to go to other malls to look for it. In short, it is not that complete as compared today. It was not yet a one-stop-shop so they say. I also love the children’s place. It made me recall the times when I was still young, lol.

We walked and walked all around the place such that we haven’t realized that it is already afternoon and that it is time to go home. Of course we bought stuffs we want. But there is still this feeling of unsatisfaction. Well, I guess there is also time to go back and a lot of time to save too, lol.

MY TRIP IN BUYING MY LAPTOP (part 1)

It was a month ago when I bought my laptop. I was so happy and still on the verge of experimenting the same. Honestly, there are a lot of things that I need to know about my laptop. But I guess I’ll slowly learn about it in the days to come.

I and my family traveled one hour and thirty minutes from our city to Cagayan de Oro City. It was not a tiring trip for all we did was took some pictures as well as talked about a lot of things. We stopped to a certain restaurant to eat and rest for a while. Although it only took less than two hours to travel to said city it seemed that it was that far due to several views that we passed by. It was hard to take pictures at that time obviously because we are moving. Yet we took some pictures of the views. But this one struck me a lot: pictures of trees without leaves. Take note that the trees are totally without leaves. I thought that this might be due to certain abuses of the environment but much to my dismay, the tree is in its process of developing some fruits. The fruit is known as “sineguelas.” I don’t know what its term in English (sorry guys). All I know is that this is one of my favorite fruits. It is sweet but I eat it with a salt. I believe that Filipinos know this fruit. At that time I was just surprised that the trees of this fruit are like that. I did not expect it so I enjoyed watching the same.

The pictures are not that clear because as I’ve said we were moving when we took the same. I hope that you get the idea why I am so surprised, lol.

MARIA CRISTINA FALLS

Oooops, they are not lovers; in fact they are cousins and they are just kids! This is not about them. Its about the waterfalls at their back, lol.
Iligan City is located in the northern part of Mindanao here in the Philippines. It was known before as the “Industrial City of the South” due to the fact that there are several buildings of industrial companies within the city. Although there are still big industrial companies in this city the total number of said companies is not that many as compared to before. Hence, it is no longer designated as such.

Anyway, the city now is known as “the City of Waterfalls.” I wanted to share this to you in case you could come and visit Iligan City. You can check out the different waterfalls big or small in this city. For now, let us concentrate on this waterfalls known as Maria Cristina Waterfalls. I have no knowledge of why this is called Maria Cristina Falls, sorry, lol. Anyway, this place is visited by tourists or usually by students in their fieldtrips. The place is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. In the picture (just ignore the kids, lol) the water is really not on its full blast. This is because this visit was taken not on weekends. In fact, my sister only asks a favor to the operator to open the place because these two kids came from a far away place which is only four hours from Iligan, lol, and they wanted to see the waterfalls, lol. So my sister findsways to make a negotiation and luckily they were allowed to visit the place. On the other hand, it was unexpected that our digicam was not working because the battery was dead and we could not locate the charger, sigh. So, the pictures were taken only using a cellular phone. That is why these are the only pictures that I could pick for you to see and have an idea of the view of the waterfalls. Maybe when I can go there where the falls is at its full blast, I could take pictures again to post here.

Happy blogging everyone!
